Evaporation is defined as the process of a liquid changing into a gas or vapor. It occurs whenever a liquid is exposed to heat or even a decrease in atmospheric pressure. It is one of the four states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, and plasma), and it is responsible for the water cycle.
