I went to Gansu. Gansu is the northwest province of China. It's known for its beautiful environment and friendly people.

The highlight of my trip was the difficult but rewarding journey. I Travelled from Lanzhou, the provincial capital, to the city of Jiayuguan, near the city of Jiuquan. This journey was about 500 miles and I traveled by bus, which made it a bit more challenging.

On my journey to Jiayuguan, I was able to take in the breathtaking views of the desert. It's hard to describe it in words, the landscape is so unique. Everywhere I looked I could see sand and except for occasionally finding a passing vehicle, it felt like I was in my own world.

What made this journey so special was when I arrived in Jiayuguan, I was greeted by friendly locals that made me feel welcomed. I stayed at a beautiful hostel, located near the city center, which was owned by a local couple. They took the time to show me around the city and introduce me to their friends. I was able to get a better understanding of the local culture and the people's way of life.

I also visited the well-known Great Wall of China on my travels. It was a truly incredible experience. It is said that the Great Wall can be seen from space and in many places, it is clear to see why. The wall is so large and grandiose. It was a remarkable feeling to be able to stand on it and look out over the landscape.

My journey to Gansu was very rewarding and I'm so proud that I decided to take the journey. Apart from the unique landscapes and views, I was also appreciative that the locals welcomed me with such openness. I'm thankful to have experienced this amazing province in China.
